This sort of thing continues to happen. The people who live this experience know it and continue to oppose it. But much of white America chooses to believe the narrative that those who protest injustice, and people of color in general, deserve the injustice visited upon them. That’s why stories like this must continue to be told. And why the nation needs to be continuously reminded that #BlackLivesMatter. Systemic racism is real, it is measurable, and it is ugly.
